We were invited by a close collaborator of ours Maddux Creative to design a key feature wall to be integrated into the property refurbishment of a private residence in Holland Park. We approached the project asking how we could use our knowledge of 3D technologies to create a new approach to traditional plastering.
Working closely with and Maddux Creative, we developed the 3D models and tested the material and light qualities in our modelling software. The forms were then passed on out the manufacturer and translated into CNC fabricated molds from the final plaster reliefs were created. The key production was done off site during the build, and later delivered in large format panels installed in place for final finishing.
For this intimate library space, the feature acts as stand-alone piece and creates play of light and shadow by remixing old and new technologies.
