The Museum of Architecture brings its hugely popular Gingerbread City exhibition to Somerset House.
With over 100 entries, architects, engineers and designers explore this year’s theme ‘transport’ to create a city made entirely of gingerbread. Sugar Plum Square is a interpretation of the traditional Georgian Square with a pedestrian public space surrounded by terraces. The connection from the tram to the school is activated by the children and park visitors throughout the day.
As an open-source building system, the prefabricated, standardised units will be manufactures off-site from pre-cast gingerbread. The mix of residential units size and configurations respond to individual and family needs to create integrated, holistic homes for local Gingebreadians.
A very special thanks to Susanne Albrecht for helping us realise our entry 'Sugar Plum Square' which won Most Creative entry.
