Architectural Association 2005-2017

Over the course of 10 years, Tyen Masten has researched and developed what the role of the architect is in the creation of visionary futures, testing brave new worlds and developing actions that can harness architecture to make real these visions. He taught within the famed unit system of the Architectural Association (2005-17) where he led research on subculture and counterculture, and how both can inform new programmatic approaches and building forms. Investigating new material systems, digitisation and big-picture thinking, his work remains grounded in future building, legacy and whole systems.

PHASE3 is a manifestation of this research and continuously aims to ‘go deeper’ and grow a positive culture, giving birth to new ideas and opportunities to empower people and create the ultimate conditions for creativity, purpose and innovation.
